At our workplace, we strive to look out for one another and check in regularly — but sometimes, even in caring communities, we can lose someone we deeply value. Recently, we lost our colleague and friend, Nathaniel (Nate) Nichols, whose passing has deeply affected us all.
Every day in Australia, around 8 people take their own lives. For every life lost, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide. Nearly 9 in 10 of us know someone who has been affected in this way. These numbers are heartbreaking — and we want to help change them.
R U OK? envisions a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire meaningful conversations that can make a life-saving difference. By taking the time to ask “Are you OK?” and truly listening, we can help those who are struggling feel supported long before they reach crisis point.

Why I’m Supporting R U OK? This cause is deeply personal for me. Recently, our team lost a valued colleague and friend, Nathaniel “Nate” Nichols. Nate’s passing shook us to our core and reminded me that even in caring, supportive environments, someone can still be struggling silently. In Australia, around 8 people take their own lives every day. For every life lost, 30 more are estimated to attempt suicide. These numbers aren’t just statistics — they’re fathers, mothers, friends, teammates, and co-workers. R U OK? exists to inspire meaningful conversations and help people feel connected and supported long before they reach crisis point. By asking a simple question — “Are you OK?” — and really listening, we can make a difference. I’m donating in Nate’s memory because I believe we can do better at checking in, caring, and creating a culture where no one feels they have to face their challenges alone
