We are fundraising for a great cause!
On a national scale it’s estimated that 8 people die by suicide each day. In the construction industry alone, research shows that around 190 Australians take their own lives each year. Pretty confronting, isn’t it?
At Balmain & Co we do our best to look out for one another. We encourage our team to check in with each other regularly and do what we can to raise awareness and support within our great industry.
For the month of September, we’re challenging our team and their loved ones to get moving. On Sunday September 12th we will be getting together for a victorious lap (or two) around the iconic Albert Park Lake to raise awareness and funds for RUOK?
R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.
By inspiring people to take the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people who are struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.
Thank you so much for your support, together we will make a difference.

2 Sleeps to Go!!Friday 10th Sep
Move with Balmain & Co is happening Sunday September 12th on Strava!
Due to the current restrictions, Albert Park Lake may not be within the 5km radius for everyone, and that's ok - we've got it covered! We've created the event on Strava so that our team and their loved ones can join in within their local radius.
Course/ Distance Options:
1R (start time 10:30am) – 5km run (equivalent of one lap around the lake)
2R (start time 10:00am) – 10km run (equivalent of two laps around the lake)
1W (start time 10:00am) – 5km walk (equivalent of one lap around the lake)
Prizes: As a family friendly event we have 3 course options, so there is something for everyone to get involved. There will be prizes for the fastest run times in the following categories:
Adult 10km Run
Adult 5km Run
Kids 5km Run (16 y/o or under)
Winners will be announced on Monday the 13th of September.
Balmain & Co will be donating $2 per kilometer per person for every participant who runs or walks for Move with Balmain & Co.
Although we won't all physically be walking or running together, it's the initiative that counts, and by getting involved we are raising awareness for R U OK?'s mission to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.
