Support (i.e.,) fundraising for a great cause!
(i.e.,) is a digital consultancy, and like a lot of workplaces these days, we're hybrid. Some of us are in the office, some working from home, some in different states. It means getting steps in, and getting face time with each other, doesn't always happen on its own. We wanted to change that.
So this September, we're building movement into our everyday with a team step challenge. Six teams, two weeks, 31 August to 11 September. It's a small thing, but it's also true: some of our best conversations happen when we're walking, not sitting across a desk or a screen.
That's the same spirit behind R U OK? Day. In our workplace, we do our best to look out for our colleagues and check in on each other regularly, and this year we wanted to build that into how we move through our days, not just talk about it in a meeting.
Here's why it matters. About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day. For every death, it's estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide. And 89% of people say they know someone who's made an attempt. We want to help change these numbers.
R U OK?'s vision is a world where we're all connected and protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire people to meaningfully connect with those around them, and to support anyone who's struggling. By asking "are you OK?" and genuinely listening, we can help people feel connected long before they're in crisis.
Every dollar you donate goes to R U OK?, and (i.e.,) will match it, up to $1,500. So your support goes further, no matter the amount.
Thank you for supporting us.
Now, if you'll excuse us, we've got some steps to log.
