In our line of work our Statewide family are faced with the effects of suicide on a too regular basis. We see the person who has sadly taken their own life and feel the trauma of the ones they’ve left behind.
We comfort the loved ones and too often we forget to look after ourselves.
Three simple words like RU Ok can open a much needed conversation between one another. Everyone needs at some time, an ear to listen and a shoulder to lean on. Let’s bring this awareness to our Statewide family and reach out to one another regularly.
About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.
For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.
89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.
We want to help change these numbers.
R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. .
