Riding for a Life

Riding for a Life.... Let make the km's count !!!

In this hectic time where the daily race against the clock, competition with peers, the idea of meeting external expectations, assimilating & understanding the distraction of the social networks.

Have brought us to a point where happiness seems fictitious, where interpersonal connections, appreciation of life and human interaction are seem far removed from reality and sometimes unattainable.

In a world where everything seems perfect behind a screen, a post or an emoji, where the external validation of a like hides a real tragedy that plagues our generations more & more. Seems like we have lost that warm human connection, that stability that is only transmitted with the sincere presence of our families, partners, friends and all human beings in general.

Are those enough reasons to inspire us for a change, is this my inspiration to put my grain and contribute with a fundraise for R U OK? As a way to  help spread their message, create awareness about mental health issues and the prevention of suicide.

It is alarming to know that about 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day & close to 800,000 around the world die every year due to suicide. As a consequence, for each loss, an estimated of 30 people close to this events will attempt suicide. 89% of people report knowing or being related to someone who tried to take their own life due to depression or different mental health issues.

I firmly believe that these numbers can change with the awaking of people's consciousness, fostering the creation of genuine interpersonal relationships, establishing bonds and reconnecting as human beings; beyond a screen a cell phone, all those filters of this life and the surrounding daily routine.

R U Ok? It is a foundation that align with my vision of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide.

Their mission is to create genuine connections with people around us and support them during life's challenges. Inspiring people to take time out and reach out their loves ones with a simple but valuable question R U Okay? and listen !!! In this simple way we can help people going through challenging times in their lives to feel connected & supported long before mental health issues take over and push them to take their own lives.

My contribution goes to help this program but above all I want to help spread this message and raise the awareness in more & more people who want to recover their lives before tragedy.

What is my challenge??  Well a huge challenge perhaps one of the greatest that I will undergo throughout my life, I'll be attempting to ride my motorcycle across the harsh and remote desert of Australia from Step Point ( The Western most point) to Cape Byron ( The Eastern most point) through 7500km's of physical & mental challenge which I'll attempt to conquer in 14 days but I want to make it count every Km traveled with a cause.

Reach out your loved ones, your family, friends,  working mates & your general environment. Take some time out of your hectic life and create that genuine connection with openness, with sincerity, with love,  take out those barriers, fear or prejudgments.

Extend your hand to help, your ear to listen, and a hug to comfort.

Sometimes by simply asking R U Okay? we can change someone's life.

Join my journey & help to spread the message.
