Shaving my head for awareness

I'm fundraising for a great cause!

I have decided to fundraiser for R U OK? 

I was unsure of which charity to fundraiser for as my initial goal was cancer awareness but after doing some research I decided that mental health affect all in one area or another of their lives including those who are affected by cancer..

 I want to challenge myself and the typical standard of beauty that I have had drilled into my brain. 

I am trying to learn to be beautiful and confident in my own skin and show others and my two beautiful girls that beauty is from within. It’s one thing to want to look good and feel good, but it’s another to, HAVE to in order to feel confident or beautiful. So I WILL BE SHAVING MY HEAD. To really challenge my confidence and feel beautiful even though i may not be the “typical” standard of beauty society/social media/magazines etc. would have us believe it looks like, and to help spread the R U OK? message and help prevent suicide. 

About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.

For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.

89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.

I want to help change these numbers.

R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. 

Their mission is to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people who are struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.
