Midnight Comp for Charity
If you are reading this, it is likely that you have experienced the same magic that we have - the laughter, frustration, tears, encouragement and satisfaction of ‘throwing down’ in the gym with your mates.
CrossFit is more than your gym, more than a training methodology and more than a single local community.
Our sport has the ability to unite people of all ages, backgrounds, abilities and goals. It is our training - that daily, vulnerable persevering - that drives not only our progress but our deep sense of belonging and togetherness. For many of us who have experienced this acceptance and support, we know the power of CrossFit to be ‘a match struck in the dark’ (www.crossfit.com/what-is-crossfit).
About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.
For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.
89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.
Meaningful support, such as that found in our CrossFit gyms and communities, can be a safeguard against potential tragedy.
In support of R U OK? Day on September 14, we have decided to use our annual Midnight Comp for Charity (Sunday, September 24th, 2023) as an opportunity to raise awareness and funds. Together with you, we hope to change these statistics. Most importantly, we encourage you to use this time to ask “Are you OK?”.
Thank you so much for your support.
