I'm fundraising for a great cause!

24Hrs For A Purpose is back again in 2022!!

This event was was started to raise awareness for mental health issues and suicide prevention, start conversations, and to raise funds to support R U OK? in the incredible work they do through education, resources, encouraging meaningful conversations and all work to prevent suicide!

The '24Hrs For A Purpose' event was born in 2021 through collaboration between Miles Lindberg and Rusty Clark - owner/operator at Purpose Fitness Adelaide and the event was run with unbelievable success within that fitness community (who were amazing support in it's success and getting it off the ground!). Year two provides the opportunity now for us to share this event with as many communities or teams as possible to spread the message of our cause to as many people as we can - So get a team together and get involved!

Before we get to our challenge - here are some confronting statistics:

- About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.

- For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.

- 89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.

- Suicide was the 15th leading cause of death in Australia in 2020.

- 45% of Australian's will experience a mental health condition in their lifetime.

We want to help change these numbers - and with your help and support WE CAN!

Our unique physical challenge:

- In teams of 4 -
Every 3hrs for 24hrs - (each team member completes)
- 1.7km Run
- 1.5km Row erg
- 1.5km Bike (Assault, concept2, push bike etc.)
- 45 Push-ups
- 45 Sit-ups
- 45 Squats
(Key rule: All team members must remain within the single event location for the entire 24 hours. You can't easily escape Mental Health - so we'll stay locked in the same way!)

R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide.

Their mission is to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people who are struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.

Thank you so much for your support, together we will make a difference.

Feel free to create your own Community or Team event page linked to this one (click the Join me button) - and feel free to reach out to either of us for advice or tips on ho to run the event in your location!
