In our workplace we do our best to look out for our colleagues, our children and our families checking in on each other regularly.
About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.
For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.
89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.
We want to help change these numbers.
R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.
By inspiring people to take the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people who are struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.
We want to teach our children that it's okay to speak up when your feeling down or struggling to express their feelings and emotions. We want the children to know our staff are always here to support them through any tricky situation or emotion that life throws at them.
We want our Middle Harbour community of families to know that our staff and centre are a source of support they can lean on not only in times of need but at every crossroad. We want to ensure our families know that Cottage is always here for them.
