In our workplace we do our best to look out for our colleagues and check in on each other regularly.

About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.

For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.

89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.

We want to help change these numbers.

R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. Their mission is to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people who are struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.

Why are we doing this?

As a gym, we believe mental health and fitness go hand in hand. Not only can you remove stress, working out also has been proven to boost both your physical and mental issues. 

Myself and my co-workers have personally struggled with our own mental health. R U OK? supports the movement that a single conversation can save a life. It encourages people to talk about mental health and what they're struggling with and it's negative consequences such as suicide. 

Every year, when September rolls around I think about the millions of people who have lost their life or are struggling with their mental health and are experiencing suicidal thoughts. It reminds me that every conversation is important. 

A conversation can save a life, it saved mine.
