I'm fundraising for a great cause!
This weekend on Sunday the 15th of September I will be running the Sydney marathon in my R U OK? Budgy Smugglers raising money for R U OK?
I have decided to fundraise for R U OK? to help spread their message and help prevent suicide.
So many people who I love and care for have been seriously impacted from poor mental health which is something I never want anyone to go through. But people will continue to experience mental health issues so it is up to us to be there for our friends and family like my friends and family have been there for me.
About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.
For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.
89% of people report knowing somebody who has made an attempt.
This is such a widespread issue that not only impacts families but entire communities as well. I want to help change these numbers so even if I inspire one person to speak up or ask how their friends are I believe I have done my job.
I am so thankful for all donations and everyone who is donating no matter how much because every dollar helps!!
Funds raised will help R U OK?
- Create new campaigns and free resources to inspire regular meaningful conversations
- Expand the campaign's reach so we're there to support more schools, workplaces and communities
- Conduct more rigorous research and evaluation to continually improve our work
