Making sure everyone is OK..

I'm fundraising for a great cause!

I have decided to fundraise for R U OK? to help spread their message and help prevent suicide. 

About 8 people take their own lives in Australia every day.

For every death, it’s estimated another 30 people will attempt suicide.

I want to help change these numbers.

Having someone so very close to me take their own life by suicide had a very big impact on me emotionally and physically. It also left me with a lot of questions and feelings of confusion as to why she would do something like that and I had only been talking to her a few hours before she passed, i had no idea at all that I would wake up the next morning and she would be gone. 

Also having struggled through my own Mental Health Issues throughout my life, I know how hard it can be to get from day to day let alone reach out for help. Having a small handful of Family & Friends around and asking if I'm ok does actually help, even if I'm not wanting to talk, just knowing that they care enough to ask makes a big difference. 

R U OK?’s vision is of a world where we are all connected and protected from suicide. 

Their mission is to inspire everyone to meaningfully connect with the people around them and support anyone struggling with life.

By inspiring people to take the time to ask, “Are you OK?” and listen, we can help people who are struggling with life to feel connected long before they even think about suicide.
